Lori Anne's one bowl Banana Bread
No need to break out your electric mixer just grab one bowl and a wooden spoon and get busy! This is perfect for these cold days of winter. I'm making my loaf to snack on today and for breakfast with tea tomorrow!
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Bake Time: 1 hour
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
5 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup mashed bananas
Directions
Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in one large bowl. Then add the sugar, margarine, egg, vanilla extract, milk and lastly the mashed bananas. Slowly but thoroughly mix everything into a creamy mixture. Spray a 9x5 inch loaf pan with baking spray or grease and flour the pan then pour the mixture into the pan and spread the batter evenly. Pick up the pan about an half inch off the counter and let it drop. This removes any excess air pockets in the batter. Place the pan into a 350 degree preheated oven for 1 hour. I also Always place a pan of cold water in my preheated oven as I'm baking either bread, cakes or cupcakes to keep them super moist and delicious. Bake the bread for I hour and the top of the bread is nicely browned and it will be raised and it may be slightly cracked at the top. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool before removing from the pan and slicing!!
