Saturday Night Lights!!!

Well, it's Saturday night and I felt like a bit of Italian for dinner lol but done my way. I made turkey Italian sausages with peppers and onions and put them over a bed of brown basmati rice and it was delicious. I paired it with a nice red wine...I LOVE RED WINE but I could have paired it with a nice white wine as well.
Lori Anne's Italian Sausage over rice
Ingredients:
2 Turkey Italian Sausages
1 tablespoon of EVOO
1 onion sliced
1 green pepper sliced
salt
pepper
garlic powder
seasonings to taste
2 cups of brown basmati rice
2 tbs of butter
Directions:
1. Using a skillet add the EVOO and put it on medium heat
2. Add the whole turkey sausages and allow them to cook in the oil for about 6 minutes-3 minutes then turn to other side.
3. Add the onions and green peppers
4. In a separate pot boil 4 cups of water..add a touch of EVOO to the water and salt, pepper, garlic powder and whatever other kinds of seasonings you desire.
5. When the water is boiling add two cups of the brown basmati rice and cover and cook on a medium heat until boiling then reduce to a low heat and add 2 tbs of butter to the water.
6. Serve the Sausage and Peppers on a bed of the brown rice and enjoy.
